Schwarz Pond Park in Rosemount – Skate Park, Trails & More

by Bill Wallace on October 30, 2010

Schwarz Pond Park is located in Rosemount at 13787 Dodd Boulevard.  It is just west of Highway 3, just south of Connemara Trail and just north of the Rosemount Community Center.

It is also just north of the Rosemount athletic dome which is a year round enclosed bubble which houses athletic practices and competitions all year long.  It’s the 2nd largest indoor sports dome in Minnesota behind only the Metrodome.

Schwarz Pond Park Amenities

The park itself is 62.29 acres in size making it the largest city park in Rosemount.  In the following set of pictures you can see the picnic shelter with barbeque grills, the playground and one of the many wooded trails which make it a great place to walk.

The walking trails connect to many others including Carroll’s Woods park to the southwest, RHS Senior High School to the south and to the Evermoor development trails to the north.  These walking trails are all paved and kept in very good condition.  They are a great place to take your dogs or get some exercise while enjoying a nature filled experience.

Rosemount Skate Park & BMX Park

One other primary attraction at Schwarz Pond park is the Skate and BMX Park.  The skate facility is open daily from 6am to 10pm and features ramps, jumps and a half-pipe.  It is a popular place for teens to hang out and perfect their tricks.

Next door, outside the skate park, is an open area for BMX bike riders which includes a circular route of jumps and turns.

Wrapping It Up

The Schwarz Pond Park in Rosemount is a fantastic community resource that features a skate park, trails, playground and picnic area.  Therefore, it has a great variety of amenities that will appeal to people of all ages and should be high on your families list of places to visit in Rosemount.

I have a complaint. I live on 146th St West in Rosemount. The playground equipment on the park across the street is terribly outdated. Even my 5 year old granddaughter mentioned it. “I want to go to a new park Grandma”. The city is spending money on other things. Can we please update the playground equipment.
Thank You
Looking forward to Leprechaun Days
